How I work

I am an integrative psychologist, which means that I draw on various different psychological models and theories grounded in scientific evidence, and adapt these in accordance with your unique needs and goals for your life.

I have been trained in applying various psychotherapeutic models in therapy including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-centred Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive-Analytic Therapy (CAT). Everyone is different, and we all arrive to therapy with our unique life experiences and world views, and so I aim to adapt and tailor therapy to your unique needs and goals.

I offer psychological therapy for a range of concerns. These might include (but are not limited to):

  • Anxiety and panic

  • Phobias

  • Stress and burnout

  • Depression

  • Anger problems

  • Trauma

  • Relationships

  • Loss and bereavement

  • Adjusting to life events

  • Issues related to self-esteem

In therapy I aim to create a space that is safe, respectful, authentic and collaborative. I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is core to the therapeutic process, and I believe it is crucial we can work together towards empowering you to make the changes you are looking for.

As everyone is unique and therefore requiring different things from therapy, it may be that a goal-orientated short-term therapy is suitable for you, or we might agree that a more open-ended approach is required for you. This depends on what you are seeking from therapy and we would make this informed decision together.

Deciding to start therapy

Deciding to start therapy can feel challenging, and for some it is a big decision and commitment to make. For this reason, I offer an initial 20 minute phone conversation to answer any questions and help you decide whether if psychological therapy could be helpful for you.

In our first session, I aim to get an understanding of how your life is right now and what you want to change, and we will discuss how we might go about this. You can then decide whether or not this is for you, and book further appointments if you wish.

I offer online or face-to-face sessions. Each session runs for 50 minutes and usually occur on a weekly basis.

Fees

Each 50-minute therapy session is charged as follows:

Online sessions: £80 per session

Face-to-face: £100 per session

Cancellation policy: I do ask that if you need to cancel a session, you give at least 24 hours’ notice. If you do not give me notice, or you miss a session without letting me know, 100% of the fee will be charged for that session.
